Week Five on Nutrisystem

It's been a whole month since I started Nutrisystem.

This week I lost two pounds...yes, that says TWO pounds!!

Woohooo, Yay Me!!

Hard work pays off....eventually.

I changed a few things around as far as my eating was concerned and it seems to have helped.
I also have been taking advantage of the mild weather, as much as possible.

so the pros....

Tuesdays and Thursdays were/are hard for me, because I literally have class all day,
my classes are back to back, leaving only 15 minutes in between.
Before I made the recent changes, I was skipping meals and then over eating once I got home (not only because I was hungry, but I was trying to fulfil all the food/calorie needs).

This week however, I made sure to pack a few snacks (such as peanuts, raisins, a piece of fruit, or string cheese) as well as a lunch and I made sure to take a few minutes to eat.  I even ate a few bites during class, whatever works, right? And I have been trying to be more active as well, by walking around the track at the park, while it's been nice enough to enjoy it.

I think these positive changes have helped me break through a bit
and made the two pound loss a successful achievement.

and now, the cons....

I have hit a major road block mind wise.  Meaning I have been suffering from some pretty major depression.  I'm also lacking energy.  Not sure if it's the depression  or something else, but I honestly don't feel like doing anything.  If I could get away with sleeping all day, I probably would.

I'm making steps to change this, hopefully something good will happen to
help me out of the funk I've been in.

Here's my tally so far.  May not seem like much - 8 pounds, but it's all good!

Week Four on Nutrisystem

This has been a super busy week for me.  I'm behind on everything, including this post.

I'm happy to report that I lost another pound for a total of six so far.

I'm getting to the point where I am no longer tempted to eat junk food.
Even to the point that my kids can eat it and I see it, but I don't feel cravings for it.

This is a super good thing too, because I am a junk food addict.

Nutrisystem food is so filling and proportioned properly that I don't feel hungry in between meals anymore.  And on the rare occasion that I do still feel hungry, I can satisfy that hunger with fresh vegetables or even a small bowl of popcorn.

Week Three on Nutrisystem

So, happy to say that I lost a pound this week.
I know a pound doesn't sound like much,
especially when you consider the fact that I had gained
one last week.

However, every loss - no matter how small - should be celebrated.
at least I didn't gain more....so yeah, I'll take that pound and
I'll be proud that I lost it.

This week I wanted to share a few of my favorite Nutrisystem  breakfast foods with all of you.

A few of my favorite breakfasts include, the granola cereal (I like to add a small handful of sliced almonds and raisins to it and I eat it either plain or with a 1/2 of skim milk - so yummy), I also love the frozen cinnamon roll (I heat it for 30 seconds in the microwave and it is delicious), Another favorite is the oatmeal cranberry bites (so good with my morning cup of coffee or tea).  I totally love the breakfast bars too, there are a few options available, including peanut butter granola, cinnamon raisin, blueberry lemon baked bar, and the chewy chocolate chip granola.  These are so convenient because I can throw them in my bag and eat them while I run errands or if I'm heading late to class.

I'm still having a few issues figuring out my schedule on my busy class days - as in when I can eat, because all my classes are back to back, leaving little time to eat in between.  Thankfully there are options while on the Nutrisystem diet such as lunch bars.  And my usual go to in between snack is a few tablespoons of peanuts mixed with a 1/4 cup of raisins...my own trial mix of sorts.  This is a healthy choice, because it helps fit the smart carb/protein bill.  I'll explain more about smart carbs and proteins in another blog somewhere down the road on this exciting journey of health and awareness.

Here's another pic of this week....not much difference can be seen (of course), but it's all part of documenting my adventurous journey.

Week Two #NSNation #Sponsored

I have been having such a difficult few weeks, it's been hard adjusting to my school schedule, among other things.  I've been sleeping a lot more than usual, not sure if it's just the fact that my body needs the rest or depression or mental exhaustion....maybe a combination of all of it.  At any rate, I ended up gaining a pound back that I lost.  I think it's going to take me a little bit of time to adjust to all the things that are going on lately.  I'm trying though.  I've been more active since I started school, so there's that.  I think gaining and losing is a balancing game, much like life is.  I'll get there.  As they say, it's a marathon, not a sprint.  Praying I can get things balanced out and such, within the next few weeks.
